Demo, SheetCreator in action

What it does

Sheet creation is supposed to be the fast, boring part of starting a set. Creating a full sheet set by hand, one sheet name and number at a time, is neither. SheetCreator reads sheet name and sheet number from an Excel file and creates every sheet in one run. Point it at your Excel file (a sample template is included) and run it. The bulk-creation step before you place title blocks and views goes from typing each sheet in by hand to one run from a spreadsheet you already control; view placement and title block assignment stay a separate step after that, and pairing it with SheetOptimizer keeps the set clear of empty sheets afterward.

What is included

  • SheetCreator.dyn — one build per Revit version, 2020-2024, in a folder each
  • Sample/SheetCreator Example.xlsx — the sample workbook the File Path input ships pointing at
  • README.md — parameter list, requirements and licence terms

How it works

  1. 01

Prepare your two-column Excel file (sheet name, sheet number), or use the included template.

  2. 02

Launch Dynamo Player from the Manage tab and select the SheetCreator graph.

  3. 03

Point it at your Excel file and run it.

  4. 04

Place title blocks and views on the new sheets as a separate step.

FAQ

Questions about this product

Does it also place views or a title block?

No, this creates the sheets themselves. View placement and title block assignment stay a separate step; pair it with SheetOptimizer to clean up empty sheets afterward.

Do I need to know Dynamo?

No. It runs from Dynamo Player: point it at your Excel file, and run.
